About

Etienne Girard is an electric/upright bassist, backing vocalist and producer, originally from rural North Buckinghamshire, UK.

He first picked up the electric bass at the age of 15, feeding an obsession with the instrument and passion for music that endures to this day. Following a move to Liverpool in 2000, where he initially studied music at the world-famous Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), Etienne has been quietly but steadily building a reputation as a go-to session musician. Over the years, he has added both fretless and upright bass to his palette, and regularly contributes backing vocals to live and studio projects.

Etienne has developed a wide-ranging, melodic playing style that always seeks to best serve the needs of the music and the song, with the emphasis on feel, emotion and a solid groove borne from over twenty years of playing experience.

In his career to date, Etienne has gigged & toured extensively across the UK & Europe, played in cities as contrasting as Nashville, Moscow and Tel Aviv, and been fortunate to have recorded in some of the UK’s finest studios.

Most recently, Etienne has been applying his studio experience and keen ear for musical detail into the role of co-producer, working closely with artists to help them achieve the musical results they’re looking for.
